Advanced Painting & Drawing Tuesdays, 24S-PNT-A-0031
5/7/24-6/11/24 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM ( 6 sessions )
This studio course is for students with previous experience that are ready to progress towards the next level which is to consider an exhibition quality body of work. Unlike basic classes which rely on assignments furnished by the instructor, students in this class will be encouraged by the instructor to generate ideas and create individual projects of their own design. In a supportive environment complemented by demonstrations, individual and group critiques and relevant slide lectures, students will be motivated to focus on developing their own personal style and two dimensional voice. Students should bring their favorite materials and their ideas to the first class. Currently registered students will have the opportunity to use the studio and stay after their class each week for unmonitored non instructional time until 4:30pm.
Beginner/Intermediate Painting & Drawing Wednesday 24S - PNT-A-0030

This class is for those students with little to no instruction in painting but have a desire to explore that medium. Starting with some basic drawing instruction students will then explore the use of paint and color by working from a variety of subject matter in a fun and supportive environment. The instructor will offer guidance in drawing ,composition and color theory and the proper use of materials via group and individual critiques, demonstrations and historical references. Drawing materials will be supplied at first class when materials will be discussed and a material list will be available. Students may work in pastels, oil or acrylic paint (no watercolor please) and should expect to spend approximately $40 on those materials. Currently registered students will have the opportunity to use the studio and stay after their class each week for unmonitored non instructional time until 4:30pm.
Landscape Painting in Princeton: Morven Museum Thursday 24U-PNT-A-0038 Thursday 7/11/24 - 8/1/24 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM (4 sessions)

In this four-week mini-course students will be inspired by the surrounding beds of heirloom plants from the 18th and 19th centuries and the majestic trees that dot the formal grand lawn of the former Governor's Mansion at this very special place. The instructor will be on hand offering both beginner and more advanced instruction and guidance throughout the morning via individual and group critiques. Open to students of all media (pastels, oil, acrylic and watercolor paints) and all levels. Lightweight easels chairs and tables will be provided on location at the Morven Museum, 55 Stockton Street in Princeton.
Important: Students should bring their favorite materials to the first class (7/11) which will meet at the Arts Council of Princeton with all other classes held on location at the Morven Museum weather permitting.

Students should bring their favorite materials and their ideas to the first class.
